Coach Jossie’s passion for teaching is undeniable. With over 15 years of experience as a premier acting coach to the stars what sets Coach Jossie apart in her industry is 25+ years as an award-winning actress. Jossie’s longevity in the business has kept her in the room where it happens, helping her to guide her students, with some having no prior training, in actualizing their dream in becoming working artist in a short period of training with Coach Jossie. As the entertainment business continues to grow and acting styles change, Jossie continues to impart her wisdom and secrets of the trade to actors, singers, dancers, as well as, Hollywood’s movers and shakers positioning Jossie to work alongside some of the best directors, producers, casting directors and top agents in the business. Coach Jossie students have flourished in the business and have gone on to star on major networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS, BET, Netflix, Showtime and HBO. Actors have also performed at major local, regional, national theaters and can be seen in national commercials and print ads.

Born in Harlem, New York, Jossie Harris Thacker, a.k.a, Just Jossie, began her career as a dancer. While un-trained, her natural dancing talent landed her leading roles in some of the 90’s most iconic music videos including, Michael Jackson’s, “Remember the Time”, Janet Jackson’s, “That’s the way love goes”, and Mary J. Blige’s, “Real Love”, to name a few. Coach Jossie’s legendary dancer status began when she was cast as one of the acclaimed, “Fly Girls”, in Keenan Ivory Wayan’s, hit Fox TV show, “In Living Color”, starring alongside her friends, Jennifer Lopez and comedians Jim Carrey, Jamie Fox, and the Wayans family.
Coach Jossie has landed significant roles on top television series with her most recent appearances on Dick Wolf’s, Chicago Med, Chicago PD and Empire. Jossie has won several awards, as well as being nominated for a NAACP award. Also won at the prestigious Chicago International Film Festival for her work in the award-winning film, “Mississippi Damned”, which earned Jossie, “Best Supporting Actress”, award making her the first African American, Latina woman to ever win in that category.
Jossie has directed and produced several productions most recently, Lorraine Hansberry’s, “A Raisin in the Sun”, at Victory Gardens. Her 2020 Kids W.A.Y Acting Academy’s, 24-cast production of, Todd Wallinger’s, “The Enchanted Bookshop” was brought to a halt just 2 weeks before it was scheduled to premiere due to the COVID-19 crisis. Jossie’s producing credits also include acquiring several projects under her production company, BeFLYCreate, Inc. slated to go into production late 2020.
Jossie is currently a Committee Board Member of the Chicago International Film Festival, Black Perspectives Program and has worked with their CineYouth Film Festival division. Jossie has served as a Board Member of Chicago’s Children Hospital. She currently serves as the Co-Director of the Cultural Arts Ministry of her 4,000-member church and has directed and produced several productions which she has taken on the road and produced at respected local theaters.
